| The Spring
2008 Annual General Meeting was a big success and very well attended by
more than 75 members. The executive received several positive comments
about the interesting presentations made on MPAC, fisheries and the Trent
Severn Waterway coalition.
The attendees made a show of hands in support of a proposed township bylaw to allow ATVs on our cottage roads and made a show of hands against a proposed township by-law to allow Sunday hunting. This feedback was provided to Peter Franzen of Galway, Cavendish and Harvey Township. We will follow up on the township’s decision and communicate the outcome. |

| The
attendees further supported a motion to lobby with Parks Canada for a
continued open communication process in managing the Crystal Lake dam with
a specific plan to ask that logs are never removed in groups so we can
avoid sudden water level drops like we experienced last summer and that
some logs be left in the dam after Thanksgiving to ensure we capture an
ample amount of the Spring melt. The CLCA Environment committee will
pursue this on our membership’s behalf.
We thank everyone for coming out to the meeting and for their support. Enjoy the summer. |
